Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale have announced their team for the
Tour de France.
Felix Gall leads the hunt for the overall classification after a very strong Tour de Suisse, whilst the rest of the team will most certainly have as a priority fighting for a stage win throughout the three weeks.
The Austrian was eighth and won the queen stage to Courchevel two years ago, whilst in 2024 he struggled in the final week and finished outside the Top10. At the recent Tour de Suisse he looked to be back to his strongest level and in the high mountains was the closest rival to João Almeida. He will be aiming for another strong result, although if he takes on a stage hunting role he could also succeed.
The team has on paper very strong names to support him.
Oliver Naesen likely starts the race with the specific role of protecting Gall in the flat days, but on paper - although their priorities will likely be breakaways -
Stefan Bissegger and
Bruno Armirail could also be incredibly powerful domestiques outside of the mountains.
Callum Scotson was already a crucial support rider in Switzerland, but the team also has
Clément Berthet and
Aurélien Paret-Peintre to support the Austrian and chase stage wins in the mountains.
Bastien Tronchon completes the lineup, more focused on the hilly and explosive stages. The Frenchman won the Tro-Bro Léon recently in impressive fashion and has earned his role as a stage hunter in the Tour.
