Stage 4 of the 2023 Vuelta a Espana is expected to be a bunch sprint finish and according to many experts and pundits, the outstanding favourite is Alpecin-Deceuninck's Kaden Groves.
“Everyone sees me as the top favourite," admits the 24-year-old Australian who has already come close to tasting victory, finishing second on stage 2 behind Andreas Kron, in a pre-stage 4 interview with Sporza. "But there are many more good sprinters in this Vuelta. It will turn out to be a sprint today. We will do everything we can with the team.”

A winner of a Vuelta a Espana stage back in 2022 and a victor earlier this year at the Giro d'Italia, Groves is arguably the standout of the few sprinters that are taking on the final Grand Tour of 2023. Key for Groves will be his teammates.
“Robbe Ghys knows what to do in the sprint. I am in good hands, with Edward Planckaert and Sam Gaze as well. It's up to these guys to put me in a good position, but they certainly will," Groves concludes.
