Alpecin-deceuninck's multi-layered Milano-Sanremo machine can't be broken with one rider, even if he's as strong as Pogi. They have Philipsen as Plan A, Groves as Plan B, Van der Poel as Plan C, and Del Grosso may also be a factor. UAE have one card in Pogačar, but nothing else. They need to sign Arnaud de Lie ASAP .

UAE sent the wrong riders to these races, making Remco's job easier. He's successfully dropped Almeida on Del Toro's terrain, now he has to drop Del Toro on Almeida's terrain

McNulty was the only one who could have given everything for Almeida and then rode slowly to the line. He stayed quite close fo quite a while, so he'd have been able to sacrifice himself for Almeida

Didn’t really humble his opinion of himself later though. Maybe he should cool it a bit before he achieves similar results.

Correction: Van Alphen took the overall as she raced every round while Fouquenet missed one.

Teammate has nothing to do with this. Pelizzari would ride on the back regardless. Tiberi didn't help at all. Tiberi tried to save the legs to be second place and get bonus seconds
