VIDEO: Spanish police arrest four men who planned on sabotaging Vuelta a Espana with 400 liters of oil

The Vuelta a Espana has seen heavy rain, racing at night, neutralizations and post-finish crashes. Three days of non-stop drama and controversy and a massive accident may have been avoided, as the Spanish police caught red handed a person who planned to sabotage the race with 400 liters of olive oil.

This was revealed in the police's own social media account. "With this mechanism someone planned on sabotaging today's stage of the Vuelta a Espana," the announcement said. Two containers with 400 liters of liquid which was meant to be dropped onto the peloton. Four people were detained in Leida."

On the video shared it is possible to see the arresting of several people, but also the scheme which had been planned by the suspects. Over a bridge where traffic is visible, the suspects have stored containers said to be of olive oil, and a hose directly pointing towards the road below where the peloton will race by today.
