Dylan van Baarle will race for Jumbo-Visma again this weekend for the first time since his crash in Paris-Roubaix. The Dutch classic specialist will ride the Critérium du Dauphiné in preparation for the Tour de France, NOS reports.
Van Baarle crashed hard at Paris-Roubaix. He suffered a fracture in his hand and in the shoulder. His face was also battered. The rider was taken to hospital and was then couldn't ride bike for a week. At the beginning of May, he announced that he was almost injury-free. “So it actually went super fast,” he said at the time.
Most of the expected Tour de France lineup around leader Jonas Vingegaard, will ride Critérium du Dauphiné, except for Sepp Kuss, who will prepare individually after just completing Giro d'Italia where he assisted in Primoz Roglic's triumph. Wout Van Aert will ride Tour de Suisse instead, while Nathan Van Hooydonck'¨s programme remains unclear.
