Adam Yates leads UAE Team Emirates at Critérium du Dauphiné as Tour de France preparation steps up

With UAE Team Emirates's expected Tour de France leader, Tadej Pogacar currently recovering from injury at altitude, Adam Yates is the man leading the team at the traditional Tour de France preparation race, the Critérium du Dauphiné.

“Since the win at Romandie I took a little bit of a break and after just been building up slowly again. We’ve been training really well as a group at altitude the past weeks and the atmosphere is really great in the team," Yates tells the UAE Team Emirates's official website. "The Dauphine now will be a good tester before the Tour de France. I’ll be aiming at picking up a stage win and hopefully having a crack at a GC result too.”

The 30-year-old Brit will be supported in his GC quest by a strong team that includes three-time under 23's time-trial world champion, Mikkel Bjerg, the Austrian Felix Großschartner, the experienced Vegard Stake Laengen, multiple Tour de France stage winner Rafal Majka, the Portuguese Ivo Oliveira and finally Matteo Trentin.
