Danish rider hit by car on Paris course and forced to miss Olympic Games

The Olympic Games' time-trial route was criticized by a few riders including World Champion Remco Evenepoel but more problems have surged. Solbjork Minke Anderson was set to race for Denmark in the Olympics but this will not happen after she was hit by a car whilst exploring the route.

The Uno-X Mobility rider is only 19 years old but made a strong impression, finishing fifth at the Volta a Catalunya Femenina and also 19th at the Giro Donne. She earned a selection for the Olympics where she was to join the likes of Emma Norsgaard and Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig, contenders for the gold medal in the road race.

“I have no words for it, I am completely devastated. The Olympic Games are a dream for me," she said on a message shared in social media. Anderson was hit by a car whilst doing a recon of the course and suffered a collarbone fracture which ends her Olympic dream in the most unlikely way.
