The 20-year old Dutch talent from Jumbo-Visma has taken an important win, as he took the second stage of the Circuit Cycliste Sarthe in a bunch sprint in Le Lude. Olav Kooij had came to the race as one of the strongest sprinters, and has taken his first win of the season after a set of promising performances in the past few months.

The 174-kilometer long stage saw a calmer day as the peloton which saw a bunch sprint decide the stage. Race leader Mads Pedersen was the first to launch his sprint, in an attempt to extend his lead over Benoît Cosnefroy, and succeeded but saw the stage win slip between his fingers as Olav Kooij outsprinted the Dane. Lorrenzo Manzin finished third in the day.
