- The perils of having a hilarious name
- "Sexass" is probably worse
- Looking forward to having you back Wally.
- Hey Rafo...Sexy is a nick name term of endearment... FFS.
- A superteam is one which still performs well at the top even when it experiences setbacks with its top riders, as they have enough depth.
UAE, Visma and Red Bull are certainly there. Not sure about Quick Step. Lidl-Trek and Decathlon aren't there yet.
I don't think the rumours that Florian Lipowitz is heading to Lidl-Trek will materialise - he can drop Evenepoel like a sack of potatoes with regards to Tour de France leadership - but if they do, that'd probably turn Lidl-Trek into a superteam
- I'm finding the continous attacks on his name rather infuriating
- yes, I agree. Lidl-Trek need some depth all right in both mens and femmes. They need some results to boost their points this year though.
- Are you guys seriously claiming you know cycling and have watched the race? "The riders know best"? The cyclists had just finished the race when they complained about the motorbikes, they had not seen any footages yet. The reason why they were not pulled in was because the peloton was not organised enough, they took two men at a time to do the pulls before they were burned. They need to be 10-14 riders organized from different teams.
Also, the motorbike was clearly not too close to the breakaway, I have watched the last 30k two times. On another stage, the peloton did not reel them in until 400 metres to go. Was the motorbike pacing at that time also? Isn´t it better to actually watch the race before making a judgment?
Also, the breakaway had two teammates, which increases the loyalty of the high pace. I am also curious about the comment "packed with corners", it was not more corners than usual. Please up your expertise, I was very disappointed to read this.
- @Jumpjohn It's not whether the market affects locals, it's that it affects the revenues of the people who pay for the teams. It's actually probably more important that it affects foreigners, as that represents foreign investment, and that means they aren't living there anymore (can't safely leave, can't guarantee safety living there) and that's really bad for their economic situation.
Yes, oil revenues are booming ...for the places/companies that can ship it out. It's the loss of the Gulf states that's the rest of the oil suppliers' gain. So, again, really bad for them.
- Good insight. I just hope Sexy stays where he is .Its great to hear that more riders could be leaving UAE. Hopefully their buying success is ending. Having one team win everything is boring . I wouldnt be calling Lidl-Trek a super team mens or womens...look at this years results.
