Led by Australian duo Neve Bradbury and Tiffany Cromwell, Canyon//SRAM Racing will be competing in the Women's Tour Down Under. An all-rounder team you could say, as they will be supported by Alex Morrice, Soraya Paladin and Alice Towers.
"The Tour Down Under is a special race for me. It's my home race; it's the very first road race I saw on the roadside when I started my cycling career in 2013 with a TalentID program, and we're racing on the roads I grew up on," explains Tiffany Cromwell, who will take part in the race for the sixth time in 2024, on the team's homepage. "It's been great to see the race evolve over the years from a criterium series to a national level stage race and now the inaugural Women's WorldTour race."
"I've had the opportunity to train on the routes of all three stages in recent weeks. I like the stages. They are unpredictable and can suit many types of riders. Ultimately, the overall winner will be an all-rounder who can also climb." So Cromwell, who is not yet 100% convinced of her own preparations, says she still has some work to do on her top performances, but is satisfied overall with her pre-season.
Analyzing the opportunities for Canyon//SRAM, she concludes: "Our team for the Tour Down Under is a strong and diverse line-up. I see it as an opportunistic team. On average it's a pretty young team and we're not going to be the team that everyone is looking at. But we have some assets that we can play in the sprints and we have enough firepower for the climbs. Our goal is always to win, but a couple of podiums would be a good start to the season. The ultimate goal of the race is to be a strong and united team to get the best results we can to build a strong team foundation for the season ahead."
