The brutal layout of the Benidorm CX World Cup where Mathieu van der Poel, Wout van Aert and Tom Pidcock do battle for final time this winter

This Sunday, January 21, will be the next round of the UCI World Cup, in Benidorm, which will host the last battle of the 'Big Three' of the 2023/24 cyclocross season, although Mathieu van der Poel has dominated in all the races he has participated in.

Tom Pidcock and Wout van Aert will try to win at least once the world champion before ending their seasons in the mud. To do so, they will compete for victory on a spectacular course that will host the second edition of the World Cup race in Benidorm.

The circuit will be closed and fast, ideal for the most powerful runners. The length of the course is 3 kilometres filled with stairs, planks, a sandbank and a bridge. The capacity is expected to exceed 20,000 spectators, 5,000 more than last year, which saw Van der Poel take the win after a brutal final sprint against Van Aert.

The director of the Benidorm World Cup, Pascual Momparler, explained the new variants of the route: "We have put a harder climb that will break the race, so that not so much is ridden in group and favors some brave who wants to break away.

The women's race will start at 13:40 CET, and the men's race at 15:10 CET.
