We take a look at the
startlist of the women's elite time-trial
World Championships, which takes place on the
21st of September. The difficult route can make it a very open race, with
Chloé Dygert and
Demi Vollering amongst the main favourites. The race is estimated to
start at 10:10CET and
finish at 12:55CET.
The race will be 31 kilometers long, taking place at high altitude and with three climbs on the menu. The route is virtually the same as in the men's event, only this one has one climb less. Nevertheless the main features, including the final cobbled ascent of the Côte de Kimihurura will be tackled and these will be moments where the time-trial can be decided, as there can be meaningful differences created in these uphill sectors.
You can download the startlist in A4! We have the likes of
Marlen Reusser in the startlist who will be a big favourite after an astounding set of performances earlier in the year and could well become World Champion after having won the European title on three separate occasions; Chloé Dygert who has shown a high level once again this year and after 2024's disappointment, will be eager to bring a rainbow jersey back to the USA; and Demi Vollering as well as the main contenders for the world title in this race.
The likes of Urska Zigart, Anna van der Breggen, Juliette Labous, Anna Henderson and Katarzyna Niewiadoma will also be interesting outsiders, definitely contenders for a medal or perhaps more than just that in the race. Meanwhile, the race does lack the presence of big specialists such as Ellen van Dijk who is retiring from the sport, Lotte Kopecky who has struggled with form in recent months, Elisa Longo Borghini and Zoe Bäckstedt - the latter will be racing the under-23 event where she will be the main favouroite.
Can Marlen Reusser conquer the rainbow jersey after winning the Europeans on three different occasions? @Imago
