"Who knows, maybe I'll ride Strade Bianche in the future" - Cian Uijtdebroeks survives the fearsome gravel stage 6 without a problem

For Cian Uijtdebroeks, stage 6 of this Giro d'Italia a bit of a step into unknown territory, as the young Belgian encountered gravel for the first time in his professional career. According to the Visma | Lease a Bike leader, this kind of racing might be something he'd like to further discover in the future.

"I liked it. I enjoyed myself today. I wasn't really racing with the GC in my head, but just set my mind to zero. Who knows, maybe I'll ride Strade Bianche in the future. I really enjoyed myself. Hopefully tomorrow will be the same in the time trial. So far everything is going well for me in this Giro. I can't complain about that. Tomorrow I'm going to ride as fast as I can and I'll see what that will be worth," Uijtdebroeks said in press release.

Passing the gravel exam without any sweat, the current holder of White jersey will take on even greater test in form of a 40.6 kilometers long time trial with a final ascent to Perugia. The 21-year-old currently sits fourth overall, 55 seconds behind overall leader Tadej Pogacar.
