However, in order to facilitate the work of the Cundinamarca transit authorities in the return operation for the next holiday Monday, June 19, it was decided to make a change in the route. Now, the third stage will consist of a circuit of 11 laps through the capital of Tolima, Ibagué, with a total distance of 105.6 kilometres.
The Ibagué Sports Park will serve as the starting and finishing point for this exciting stage. Cyclists will depart from there and take Avenida Pedro Tafur, then continue on Avenida Perales. After going through the roundabout that connects with the Airport, the tour will take the race back to the starting point.
Despite this modification, the other stages of the Tour of Colombia, including the prologue on June 16, will maintain their original routes. This means that the riders will face challenging courses throughout the competition, testing their endurance, skills and strategies on different terrains and conditions.
The first fraction, which will take place one day after the prologue, will have a 197-kilometre route in Yopal, the capital of Casanare. This initial stage promises to be an exciting start to the Vuelta a Colombia, as the riders will battle to establish a leading position in the general classification from the start.
The race will come to an end on June 25 with a 42-kilometer individual time trial that will conclude in La Ceja, Antioquia. This last stage will be crucial, as the riders will have the opportunity to show their skills against the clock and secure their final position in the general classification.
