"We had no regrets today": Hugo Page on the verge of career-changing win at Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race

One of the best riders during the Australian races was Hugo Page. The 21 years old promising young French sprinter from Intermarché-Circus-Wanty, finished 2nd in Cadel Evans Great Ocean Race only behind Marius Mayrhofer. And was always one of the best fast men to pass well the hills present at the race.

“It's always a shame to finish so close to victory, but we had no regrets today. We rode a perfect race. Our strategy was clear, we used our different assets following the plan perfectly and we gave our best. So I am proud to be wearing the Intermarché-Circus-Wanty colors again on a World Tour podium”, stated Hugo Page

Hugo Page had already shine last season in some stages in particular Criterium du Dauphine where he secured some top 10s in stages that had some difficulties prior to the sprint. But his Australian Summer was still a very positive surprise, being one of the most regular fast man's and almost achieving a victory. The Frenchman is establishing as one of the most important riders to watch in selective sprint races.

"This first experience in Australia has been fantastic. Apart from the races and training rides, this long month away from home felt like a holiday with friends because of the great atmosphere. This team spirit is probably what makes the difference in the races”, said Page.

The Frenchman is now going to a little break in Europe before “going to Greece with his coach Ioannis Tamouridis to prepare the Classics.”, he revealed.
