The Vuelta Ciclista a Region de Murcia took place today, with the classics riders still taking to the front despite the route changes. It was Ben Turner who emerged victorious out of a very chaotic sprint inside the finall hilltop.
The day was meant for the climbers and puncheurs, but as the bad weather cut the main ascent off the course the sprinters were out to play. There were moves inside the final climb but it was too short to create real differences or a selection within the peloton, which then moved to the finale with a large number of riders.

The final kilometers were very chaotic in the very technical finale with several tight corners, with the uphill gradients leaving the puncheurs well positioned into the sprint. The very narrow roads also led to more chaos, with the riders caught out of position unable to get to the front.
From the chaos emerged Ben Turner in the front, who crossed the line without celebrating due to the conditions of the road. He beat Simon Clarke who rode to second place, whilst Jordi Meeus finished third without space to sprint for the victory.
