Vuelta a Espana 2026 Classifications Update Stage 13 - Wout van Aert extends Green Jersey lead over Visma teammate Brennan as Mas moves another day closer to Grand Tour glory

The first red jersey of the 2026 Vuelta a Espana will be decided immediately in Monaco, where a 9.4-kilometre individual time trial opens a race featuring more than 58,000 metres of climbing, repeated summit finishes and a second race against the clock later in the final week.
This live classifications hub will be updated after every stage with the latest General Classification, Points Classification, Mountains Classification and Best Young Rider standings, tracking the fight for the red, green, polka-dot and white jerseys from Stage 1 on August 22 through to the final stage in Granada on September 13.
The overall battle will be shaped by repeated opportunities for the climbers, from the early Pyrenean and Andorran tests to Calar Alto, Sierra de la Pandera, Penas Blancas and the decisive Collado del Alguacil. The two individual time trials and bonus seconds provide further chances for the gaps between the main contenders to change.
Sprint finishes and intermediate sprints will drive the points competition, breakaways can quickly transform the mountains standings and the white jersey will develop alongside many of the same stages that decide the general classification. Each update will show the latest standings after the day's racing and highlight the important changes across all four competitions.

General Classification Standings after Stage 13
Mas remains 1:45 ahead of four-time Vuelta winner Primoz Roglic, with Felix Gall holding third at 2:06. Richard Carapaz stays fourth at 3:53, while the battle behind him remains extremely close.
Oscar Onley occupies fifth at 4:29, only 30 seconds ahead of Stage 12 winner Jakob Omrzel. Skjelmose is now another 33 seconds behind the Slovenian after turning Stage 13 into an unexpected opportunity for substantial GC gains.
Sepp Kuss remains eighth at 7:58. Gregor Muhlberger’s abandonment following an early crash opened another position inside the top ten, although it also removed one of Gall’s most important mountain domestiques ahead of the weekend.

Points Classification Standings after Stage 13
Van Aert converted his aggressive ride into maximum points at the finish in Loja, taking his total to 224. Brennan’s work for Van Aert did not prevent him from strengthening his own position. The Brit won the intermediate sprint before finishing third, moving to 159 points and consolidating second place.
The two Visma riders now occupy the top two positions, with Van Aert holding a 65-point advantage over his teammate. Alessandro Romele is a distant third on 96.

King of the Mountains Classification Standings after Stage 13
Santiago Buitrago retained the polka-dot jersey after collecting six points on the opening category-one climb. The Bahrain Victorious rider now has 58 points.
Van Aert denied Buitrago the maximum at that summit and increased his own total to 40. His deficit has therefore fallen to 18 points, adding another possible objective to a Vuelta in which he already leads the points competition. Mas remains third in the mountains classification with 24 points.

Youth Classification Standings after Stage 13
Onley continues to lead the white-jersey competition by only 30 seconds over Omrzel. Neither rider gained time on the other during Stage 13, leaving their battle delicately balanced before the race returns to the mountains.
Bisiaux used the breakaway to reduce his deficit substantially. The Decathlon CMA CGM Team rider moved to within 9:07 of Onley, having started the stage 11:39 behind the British leader.
