According to Danish outlet Feltet.dk,
Andreas Kron has
endured yet another blow in what has been a season dominated by crashes and
injury. The
Uno-X Mobility rider went down at the Vuelta a Burgos, and medical
checks have now revealed the true extent of the damage. It continues a
frustrating 2025 campaign where the Dane has already missed some of the sport’s
biggest events due to earlier setbacks. For a rider who had success in recent years,
the repeated interruptions have severely limited his calendar.
In a statement issued by the team, the news was laid out
clearly. "After his crash in Burgos, Andreas Kron has had scans and
consulted a specialist. These examinations showed a stable fracture in the
sacrum," Uno-X confirmed.
The same release explained the immediate plan for his
rehabilitation: "He will take a few weeks off the bike to recover."
The announcement rules him out of competing at the Vuelta a España, where he
had previously been expected to line up.
The absence is significant for Kron, who won a stage at the
2023 Vuelta and returned to the race again last year. Instead of building on
that experience, 2025 has left him without a single Grand Tour start. Now 27,
he faces a period of enforced rest while Uno-X adjusts its plans, waiting to
see when their experienced climber-puncheur will be fit to return to the
peloton.
