The season keeps edging closer to the Giro d’Italia, the first Grand Tour of the year. Meanwhile, in full spring, one of the most thrilling weeks on the calendar has wrapped up. The UCI WorldTour Ranking has shifted after Itzulia and Paris–Roubaix 2026, where a hefty haul of points was distributed.
In the riders’ standings, Tadej Pogacar has stretched his lead at the top despite losing for the first time in 2026 at the Paris-Roubaix to a resurgent Wout van Aert, the headline act with his victory in the velodrome. Elsewhere, Paul Seixas was rewarded for total dominance at Itzulia Basque Country.
First things first, it’s worth highlighting the 800 UCI points banked by Wout van Aert, who climbs to second in the Ranking, ahead of Mathieu van der Poel, who moves up to third and is now five points behind his eternal rival. The Visma | Lease a Bike star is within the sight of overall leader Pogacar, who is however expected to expand his account notably the next two weeks at the Ardennes.
Despite a lesser week marked by abandon at Itzulia, Isaac Del Toro remains in the top-5 of the ranking with a comfortable lead to his closest opponents. Likewise, fifth Remco Evenepoel and sixth Tobias Lund Andresen have not added any points to their 2026 tally over the past week, allowing the star of last week Paul Seixas to breathe down their necks.

Paul Seixas starstruck

The Frenchman made Itzulia Basque Country his playground with three stage wins and overall triumph, combined worth almost 600 UCI points, enough to jump up from the depths of top-25 to a 7th place in the ranking, leaving behind stars of the caliber of Tom Pidcock (9th) or Jonas Vingegaard (12th).
Further notable movements up the ranking were made by Christophe Laporte - 5th at Roubaix - moving up to 8th overall. Hell of the North third place Jasper Stuyven leaped past former teammate Mads Pedersen (14th) to a 13th place, while the Dane is gradually approaching the top-10 despite a delayed season start.
