Isaac del Toro and
Romain Grégoire headline this week's
UCI rankings update, thanks to del Toro's domination at GP Industria & Artigianato and Grégoire's victory in the overall classification of the Tour of Britain.
You can check the previous update here. It is important to note that the latest data still does not include the Vuelta a España points, which should significantly alter the classification once they are added. Thus, there are barely any changes in the top 20, as most riders did not take part in any race during that period.
Del Toro got 200 points after winning the only race he participated in during that span and remains in sixth place, although just 10 points off Roglic, while Remco Evenepoel added 152 points after finishing in second place at the Tour of Britain and sits in seventh place, 300 points behind the Mexican.
The top of the leaderboard is commanded by
Tadej Pogacar as usual (11.465 points), with Mathieu van der Poel and Mads Pedersen completing the podium. Wout van Aert and Primoz Roglic are in fourth and fifth respectively, but this should change soon, as Roglic will lose all the Vuelta a España points he obtained last year.
On the other hand,
Jonas Vingegaard is still in eighth place, but his victory on the Vuelta a España GC will help him climb many spots. Ben o'Connor is in ninth place, while the tenth spot belongs now to Florian Lipowitz, who took advantage of the fact that Oscar Onley lost a handful of points due to skipping the Tour of Britain.
The top 11-20 has not changed compared to the past week, with the only exception of the top 20, which belongs to Olav Kooij now. The Dutch sprinter absolutely dominated the sprints in Great Britain, winning three stages that awarded him 75 UCI points, thanks to whom he moved from 24th to 20th.
The rest of the classification suffered minor changes, as riders tend to be very close to each other in the lower spots. Romain Grégoire got 233 points after winning the overall of the Tour of Britian and moved up 8 spots, sitting in 27th now.
There were, however, two other riders that climbed more spots than him. One was Julian Alaphilippe, who was also in the Tour of Britain and moved up 9 positions, reaching the 64th spot. The other was Ilan van Wilder, whose solid performance in Britain allowed him to rank up 13 spots and make it to the top 100 again.
