It's fair to say that the 2023
Tour de France hasn't really gone to plan for
Bahrain - Victorious'
Mikel Landa. When questioned about whether or not the Basque rider plans to try and bounce back at the
Vuelta a Espana, Landa was unsure.
“I had a problem and I held on, but I wasn't able to be at my best level. It was a complicated Tour, since I didn't feel well from the start," says the 33-year-old to Ciclismo a Fondo. Despite starting the race with podium ambitions and hopes of a stage win, sits 19th in the general classification, over an hour and twelve minutes down with his best stage finish being 5th on stage 15.
The remainder of Landa's 2023 is yet to be fully confirmed. When asked about the possibility of riding a second Grand Tour of the year and potentially bouncing back at the Vuelta a Espana, he neither confirms nor denies.
"The team wants me to go to the Vuelta, but I'll think about it," he says. "I don't know what plans I would go with, but now I don't even think about it."
