Jonas Vingegaard is riding the Vuelta a Espana. Jumbo-Visma have told Wielerflits that after his Tour de France triumph the Dane will be riding his second Grand Tour of the season, where he will team up with Primoz Roglic.
This week a provisional lineup for the Dutch team's Vuelta stint was made public and included nine riders which featured Sepp Kuss who is now completing his second Grand Tour of the season, but no Edoardo Affini and naturally, no Jonas Vingegaard. However after his Tour victory has been virtually sealed this Saturday, and in great form and consistency, the Dane may be now eyeing the Vuelta.
This would not be a debut in fact, as Vingegaard's first Grand Tour - and only outside the Tour de France - was indeed the 2020 Vuelta a Espana, where he helped Primoz Roglic to overall victory and had a breakthrough as a climber. It was a moment of spark in his career, and now he is set to return likely with similar goals.

Primoz Roglic and Jonas Vingegaard have now virtually conquered both Grand Tours this season for Jumbo-Visma and can be considered big favourites to take a third one for the Dutch team, but will face tough competition as reigning champion Remco Evenepoel, Geraint Thomas, Remco Evenepoel and Enric Mas will all be at the start in Barcelona in late August.
