The
Tour de France Femmes concluded on Sunday with
Annemiek Van Vleuten's victory.
Dani Rowe and Dani Christmas were present in the crowds at the end of the stage to watch the conclusion of the historic event.
"The young girls on the side of the road with goosebumps: they will be the next crop of riders to come through," Rowe said to Eurosport. She continued, "They are going to be inspired. And now you can. It is going to be a moment that goes down in history."
The former Lotto-Soudal rider was in awe, seeing the progress women's cycling has made in the last few years. "How fantastic is that? To grow up, and it just is normal that we are seeing these great riders on our screen,” said Christmas.
Rowe agreed with her while reminiscing her days of cycling. "It is normal now, and that is what we need to keep on pushing forwards, the back stories of these riders and the way that they race. We have lived and breathed this race with them this week. Not so long ago, just a year or so ago, we wouldn't have been able to have done that, so the progress that has been made to get to this point is astonishing," concluded Rowe.
