British talent Zoe Backstëdt has for the last year shown incredibly promising signs, and despite still being a junior at 17 years of age, she will be joining EF Education-TIBCO-SVB as a stagiaire for the rest of the 2022 season.
On the road Backstëdt won the junior's Tour de Flandres this year, however it was in cyclocross that she really showed her skills this season, having won 10 races this year - including her first win at Elite ranks at the Robotland Cyclocross Essen.
With pro teams continuously hiring younger riders into the pro ranks, Backstëdt is a prime example of the evolution the new generations are overgoing. She will be working likely as a support rider in the American team, but much is expected of her in the coming years.
