Annemiek van Vleuten has won the eighth stage of Tour de France Femmes. She took the lead and overcame the challenging climb to cross the finish line.
There was no breakaway at the start of the stage, the peloton rode together for 48 kilometers, but soon some riders were struggling to keep up with the peloton, including Chantal Van Den Broek Blaak (SD Worx) and Hannah Barnes (Uno X).
Sixty-seven kilometers before the finish line, we saw an attack led by Leah Thomas (Trek-Segafredo), including Paula Patiño (Movistar), Grace Brown (FDJ Suez Futuroscope), Riejanne Markus (Jumbo-Visma), Liane Lippert (Team DSM), Elise Chabbey, Pauliena Rooijakkers (Canyon//Sram), Mavi Garcia (UAE Team ADQ), Yara Kastelijn (Plantur Pura) and Coralie Demay (St Michel Auber 93). They gained 25 seconds lead over the peloton.
Annemiek van Vleuten experienced a mechanical failure 55 kilometers before the finish line. Although she exchanged bikes with team-mate Arlenis Sierra, she lost some significant time.Pauliena Rooijakkers attacked 7 kilometers before the finish line, and she gained only a 9-second lead.

Annemiek van Vleuten attacked and gained 20 seconds lead 4 kilometers before the finish line. By the final kilometer she extended her lead to 43 seconds. Demi Vollering tried to counterattack Van Vleuten several times but failed . She finished in second position , 30 seconds behind Van Vleuten. Silvia Persico finished third.
