For cycling fanatics, it’s become a tradition. Cycling fans fill out countless fantasy pools — from popular platforms to local newspapers. It’s hours of puzzling fun. And CyclingUpToDate is not staying behind — the WorldTour Manager returns for its second edition!
After a successful debut season, the competition is back. Compete and crown yourself the ultimate cycling expert of the internet in a year-long battle. At the top of the website, you’ll find the link to the WorldTour Manager.
After a successful debut in 2025, we launch the new season with Stage 1 of the UAE Tour on Monday, 16 February at 10:00 CET!
As the name implies, the game revolves entirely around the WorldTour calendar. From the UAE Tour onward, every one-day race and every stage matters — 152 scoring opportunities in total.
That means every sprint finish, summit showdown, and tactical classic can impact your ranking. Following the biggest races of the season has never been more engaging — or more competitive.

How does the game work?

Before the UAE Tour kicks off, you build your season-long roster of 65 riders. These are your scoring assets for the entire year. However, on race days you can only activate 15 riders per one-day race or WorldTour stage.
That means selection strategy matters. In major events like the UAE Tour, you’ll often have more than 15 riders on the start list — and you’ll need to decide who stays on the bench. Line-up management is part of the game.
You can lock in your race selections days, weeks, or even months in advance to avoid missing deadlines. Naturally, everything depends on official start lists. Once riders are confirmed, our start list tool helps you track exactly who is racing where. Smart managers monitor this closely.

Scoring System WorldTour manager

In every one-day race and in every WorldTour stage, the top 20 finishers score points for your team (see the points table below).
Important details:
  • In stage races, only stage results count.
  • General Classification standings do not score points.
  • Team Time Trials do not count.
Balance is critical. A stage win in the Tour of Guangxi earns the same points as a stage win in the Tour de France. That means depth matters just as much as headline stars.
It is therefore important to find the right balance in your team. Spotting new talents who get opportunities in smaller races is an essential part of the game.
For example, Paul Magnier claimed five stage victories in Guangxi last year, earning 500 points in one go. By comparison, Florian Lipowitz scored only 328 points in the Tour de France, despite being the third-best climber behind Tadej Pogačar and Jonas Vingegaard.
Successful managers combine proven WorldTour leaders with emerging talents who get protected opportunities in smaller races. Spotting those breakout performances early is often the difference between a good season and a winning one.
Unlike many other games, participation at CyclingUpToDate.com is completely FREE. It’s all about the fun. Results are processed within minutes after each finish.

Best picks

Tadej Pogacar

Since the price per rider is the same, you must choose the best riders in the peloton who will secure high-quality wins. Who will do it better than Tadej Pogacar? The last two years, no one, and in 2026, it is likely that we will witness the same. From winning the Tour de France, to the World and European Championships, to monuments, Strade Bianche, and almost every race he started at... He's your safest bet.

Mathieu van der Poel

The Dutchman has just won his eighth world cyclocross title and will begin his road season soon. Whilst he does not deliver the same number of victories, an in-form van der Poel is able to win in the monuments, Grand Tours, and stage races throughout the year, having the legs to always be in contention when the terrain suits him.

Remco Evenepoel

Every time trial Remco Evenepoel starts is guaranteed points for you, as the reigning Olympic, World, and European Champion is virtually unbeatable in the discipline. The Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe team has begun its season with great form and several victories in Mallorca, and in our World Tour manager's opening race, the UAE Tour, it is a big favourite to win the mountain stages.

Jonas Vingegaard

Jonas Vingegaard will race the Volta a Catalunya, Giro d'Italia, and Tour de France in the coming months, assuring a number of victories and many top results if he finds his best form. Competing over this many days in a short period of time, where he is expected to have good form in all, makes him a valuable rider to add to your team.

Jonathan Milan

The wins matter a lot in this game, the pure number, so who is better than the world's potential best sprinter? With Tim Merlier and Olav Kooij on the sidelines and Jasper Philipsen focusing on the classics, the Lidl-Trek rider may be the best option among the fast men to collect wins throughout the year.

Underdogs

Matthew Brennan

The Briton will be spearheading Team Visma | Lease a Bike throughout the year, often away from the big names, which gives him a good chance to win. His Grand Tour debut will be at the Vuelta a España alongside Wout van Aert, where the sprinter list is usually modest and where he can take several wins.

Paul Magnier

Focusing on the sprinters is a good strategy, as overall they will be the riders who will be contesting for the most amount of victories throughout the year. Behind Tadej Pogacar last year, it was the Soudal-Quick Step rider who achieved the most, with a schedule that included many modest races. Late in the season, he won all but one stage at the Tour of Guangxi, which would provide a massive boost to all team selections.

Tobias Lund Andresen

The Decathlon CMA CGM sprinter began his season on a roll, winning a stage and the points classification at the Tour Down Under, and then also winning the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race. These are big results, and he is likely to maintain his momentum and motivation into the new season, perhaps with a more fitting calendar, as the team put a lot of emphasis on Olav Kooij.

Christian Scaroni

Whether it's the Ardennes, the one-day races spread throughout the calendar, the World Championships, or the hilly days in the Grand Tours, Christian Scaroni can do it all. A pure puncheur with a strong sprint and the ability to climb mountains well, he can deliver in many terrains and typically has Astana's full support and freedom to chase his own results.
