We're now more than three and a half months into the 2023 season and there are still eight riders on WorldTour teams who have yet to race this season. This list includes riders that have been injured of ill for a significant amount of time, and include big figures such as
Juan Ayuso.
Leaving aside the case of Álvaro José Hodeg, who has not raced due to physical problems since 2021, the Spaniard of UAE Team Emirates is the one who has not raced for the longest time, currently sidelined by a tendinitis. UAE are currently down three riders as
Jan Polanc has also been out of action since October.

Amund Jansen are the remaining World Tour riders yet to kick off their season.
The riders below have not yet begun their 2023 seasons over different reasons.

-Amaury Capiot (Arkea Samsic). He hasn't raced since Paris-Tours (October 9, 2022).
-Jan Polanc (UAE Team Emirates). He hasn't raced since Gran Piemonte (October 6, 2022).
-Marc Sarreau (Ag2r Citroen). He hasn't raced since Paris-Bourges (October 6, 2022).
-Heinrich Haussler (Bahrain Victorious). He hasn't raced since the World Championships (September 25).
-Amund Grøndahl Jansen (Jayco Alula). He hasn't raced since Egmont Cycling Race (August 23, 2022).
-Juan Ayuso (UAE Team Emirates): He hasn't raced since Vuelta a España 2022 (September 11, 2022).
-Alvaro José Hodeg (UAE Team Emirates). He hasn't raced since Münsterland Giro (October 3, 2021).
