A lot of this comes down to smart calendar choices however. A pure sprinter and track specialist, he was not a rider who loved the climbs. Hence, he was often selected to race in Asia, specially in the last half of his contract. He has two World Tour triumphs - Renewi Tour and Tour de Pologne, all others are non-World Tour. Most notably, he won six stages at the 2013 Tour of Hainan, a rare feat of domination in any race by modern cycling's standards.
9. Frans Maassen - 37
Frans Maassen is currently better known for his role as one of Visma's main sports directors, but during his time as a rider - which ended back in 1995 - the Dutchan delivered, often. 37 times, exactly, and these were big wins too including the Amstel Gold Race and a victory at the 1990 Tour de France.
Maassen was a rider who won many stage-races however, not just stage or one-day race success, and has in his palmarès two editions of the Tour de Belgique as well as other regional main events such as the Driedaagse van de Panne, Ronde van Nederland and Tour de Luxembourg.
8. Erik Dekker - 41
Dekker is one of Visma's most successful riders ever and a household name. Throughout the 90s and 00's, the Dutch classics specialist was a force to be recognized and his palmarès features a staggering 41 triumphs with Visma. This includes four Tour de France stage wins; high-level classics such as Amstel Gold Race, Clàsica San Sebastiàn and Paris-Tours; and even stage-races such as Tirreno-Adriatico and a three-victory tally of the Ronde van Nederland's overall classifications.
7. Wout van Aert - 45
If cyclocross counted towards this tally, certainly the Visma rider would be several positions higher, but on the road itself Wout van Aert can already count on a high place in this list - just making the list is something that a lot of very successful riders haven't been able to achieve.
Van Aert has had to deal with generational titans such as Tadej Pogacar but most notably Mathieu van der Poel in both cyclocross and the road, which has limited the amount of victories in his career significantly. For example he has finished ten times on the Top4 of a monument but has only won one. And he has finished on the Top10 of the last 13 monuments he has participated in (as well as Top4 on the previous 7 he started). That is an introduction to the consistency of the Belgian, but in terms of victories, he also delivers.
Besides a green jersey, he also has 10 Tour de France victories in his palmarès since his debut years with the team in 2019 to present day. At the Giro d'Italia he has made his winning debut this year whilst in 2024 he won three times at the Vuelta a España. Van Aert has plenty high-level wins but it's in the one-day races that he truly stands out, winning races such as Strade Bianche, Milano-Sanremo, Amstel Gold Race, Gent-Wevelgem, Omloop het Nieuwsblad and the Bretagne Classic all in this decade.
Wout van Aert didn't win often in 2025, but he did win big. @Imago
6. Jonas Vingegaard - 46
Vingegaard is not a surprise on this list, naturally. The two-time Tour de France winner has his name set in stone in the team's history books but when it comes to raw numbers he also delivers, beating Wout van Aert as of the end of the 2025 season. On 46 occasions Vingegaard has won events, but has a large advantage when it comes to overall victories. He has won the Tour twice and now the Vuelta a España on two occasions, but has also finished an astounding 14 times second in Tour de France stages (whilst he's won four in the past).
But Vingegaard's talent lays on the multi-day races truly and his palmarès is enviable. He has won the Criterium du Dauphiné, Tirreno-Adriatico, Itzulia Basque Country, Tour de Pologne, Volta ao Algarve, O Gran Camiño (twice), Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali... A big palmarès that only started in 2019 (although only in 2021 did he take his second win).
4&5. Olav Kooij - 47
Member of Visma from 2021 to 2025, Olav Kooij is the youngest figure on this list, but his success in a team with such major Grand Tour ambitions has also seen him move away into the 2026 season. Nevertheless the 24 year old has left his mark, taking 47 wins in his time with the team. This includes three Grand Tour wins throughout the two Giro d'Italia editions he has participated in. It also includes the Hamburg Cyclassics and multiple stages at Paris-Nice, Tour of Britain, Tour de Pologne and even the ZLM Tour where he has won the overall classification on two occasions as well.
Olav Kooij won an impressive amount of times for a young rider. @SWpix.com
4&5. Óscar Freire - 47
Member of 'Rabobank' from 2003 to 2010, Óscar Freire is one of the team's most notable names ever. However a lot of his success happened before joining the team, as he was already a two-time World Champion by that time. But in 2004, Freire was able to give the Dutch team that victory. But his success was massive all throughout the 2000's and the 47 wins only tell part of the story.
Freire won the green jersey at the Tour de France in 2008, and has three stage wins at the Tour de France with the team's name; five Vuelta a España victories, three editions of Milano-Sanremo in 2004, 2007 and 2010; Gent Wevelgem; Paris-Tours; Hamburg Cyclassics, an overall classification at Tirreno-Adriatico and even three consecutive triumphs at De Brabantse Pijl. Enviable by all standards from the Spaniard.
3. Jelle Nijdam - 53
53 wins to the name of the Dutch rider who was the team's first ever massive name. In the 80's and 90's Nijdam has won big with the team at a time where the calendar looked rather different than what it does today. In his long career has won in the Tour de France six times and has classics such as Paris-Tours and Amstel Gold Race to his name. His many triumphs in the Dutch scene (including 3 GC wins and 10 stage wins at the Ronde van Nederland) has brought him continuous and very notable success amongst the Dutch for many years.
2. Dylan Groenewegen - 56
Perhaps a surprise this high in the list. Dylan Groenewegen is the second rider to have won the most in Visma's history, having been part of it from 2016 to 2021. Over the course of six seasons he has won almost 10 on average per year, and this is by no means a modest list in terms of quality. He won four times at the Tour de France, won Kuurne - Bruxelles - Kuurne, Classic Brugge-De Panne, Veenendaal-Veenendaal Classic on two occasions as well as plenty stage wins in races such as Paris-Nice, UAE Tour, Renewi Tour, Tour of Guangxi and Tour of Britain which has most notably marked his career.
1. Primoz Roglic - 77
Primoz Roglic is the rider who has won the most with the Dutch team, and by a large margin as well. Like several riders on this list, Roglic was a successful recruit for Visma and won 77 times during his stint with the team. This is a mix of his many overall wins but above all his extraordinary versatility - a tremendous climber, puncheur, sprinter and time trialist.
Roglic hold in his palmarès, with Visma, 12 stage and three overall wins at the Vuelta a España, perhaps the race that has marked his career the most. In addition to that he has three wins at the Tour de France (two before he actually turned into a Grand Tour specialist) and also has one at the Giro d'Italia - on Monte Lussari, the mountain time trial in which he has conquered the overall classification of the 2023 edition. He also has a monument win back at the 2020 Liège-Bastogne-Liège.
This all serves as a base, an incredibly quality of victories, but his depth is perhaps even more impressive. Roglic has won Tirreno-Adriatico, Itzulia Basque Country and the Tour de Romandie all twice with the team, Giro dell'Emilia on three occasions; and also has the Criterium du Dauphiné, Volta a Catalunya, UAE Tour, Volta ao Algarve, Vuelta a Burgos, Tour of Slovenia... Even the 2020 Tour de l'Ain, where he beat none other than peak form Egan Bernal and Nairo Quintana in a race that benefited from the Covid-19 pandemic.
By all standards Roglic has achieved a lot and it is simply undeniable the effect that he has had on the team, as well as showcasing the importance of quality scouting even in modern cycling when it seems like every talent is closely monitored from a young age.
Primoz Roglic won on many occasions at the Vuelta a España. @Sirotti
