Dylan Teuns' manager Billy Reynders has talked about the future of the Belgian rider, in which a transfer out of
Bahrain - Victorious is almost certain for the coming season.
In an interview with Sporza, Reynders has said that staying in the team that has so far this season helped him to wins at Flèche Wallone and the ongoing Tour de Romandie: "It may be an option, because Dylan appreciates the team leaders, the staff, the riders and the equipment, but we have the feeling that this story will end on their part. I think that's unfortunate."
"The team makes it clear: if you can sign the same conditions elsewhere, you can do that... No, I don't know what the problem could be with Bahrain. If I hear the reactions of the team management and teammates, then everything seems okay on a human level," he added.
He reports that Bahrain gave the Belgian the freedom to look for other teams, and that "their position was clear before those victories." Sure enough, Teuns is on an amazing run of form, having won yesterday's stage of the Tour de Romandie. He is also a double stage winner at the Tour de France with the team, amongst other results.
On his future team, whatever that may be, Reynders has been clear on the priorities: "That is about his role in the team, the program and to a lesser extent the salary. That has always been the 3rd touchstone with Dylan."
As for where and when, there are no decisions yet, and only vague contacts with some teams. "No. We usually have that. A rider would like to conclude the talks after the spring to head for the summer with a fresh head," he said regarding the possibility of there being a deadline. "Given the interest, there is no rush in this file."
