Team Visma | Lease a Bike are having their priorities away from
Strade Bianche, but that has allowed younger riders to get the chance to lead in a big event. At the Italian race,
Attila Valter and
Ben Tulett will carry the Dutch team's ambitions to take a strong result on the day.
Whilst the cobbled classics block including Wout van Aert has now gone on an altitude camp in preparation for the monuments; the Paris-Nice lineup features Jonas Vingegaard and Matteo Jorgenson; Whilst Simon Yates and Cian Uijtdebroeks will be racing for the GC at Tirreno-Adriatico.
The Dutch team are having a few groups at the team right now, and in the middle are a few riders who have more freedom. Ben Tulett rode a brilliant Clásica Jaén Paraiso Interior (helped by none other than van Aert) and recently also showed great form in the French classics, and should be the team's main weapon in search of a Top10 in Siena this Saturday afternoon.
Next to him will be Attila Valter, who only began his season last weekend and has not yet shown great form, but was on the Top5 in both 2022 and 2023 and is well suited to the explosive racing and the gravel roads. Backing them up will be two experienced Belgian riders in
Tosh van der Sande and
Julien Vermote; and three youngsters who get a chance to shine:
Tijmen Graat;
Jorgen Nordhagen and
Menno Huising.
