It's been a while since we've last seen Stefan Küng in the action. After his much discussed crash in the European Championships ITT, the Swiss rider took some time to recover and gear up for the 2024 campaign.
It's certainly not going to be a year without big ambitions for Küng who, besides his regular goals also aims to bring home a medal from Paris Olympics in the summer. But perhaps even more important for the 30-year-old would be to finally breakthrough at his favourite cobbled classics.
Joining many other big names, Küng will kick off 2024 at Volta ao Algarve (February 14-18) before first short trip to Belgium's season opener - Omloop Nieuwsblad (Feb 24). Then we'll see Küng at Strade Bianche (March 2) - a race that should very much suit him... on the paper. Afterwards he'll stay in Italy to race the Tirreno-Adriatico following week.
Two weeks later, the leader of Groupama - FDJ will take on in a quick succession: E3 Saxo Classic (March 22), Gent Wevelgem (March 24), Dwars door Vlaanderen (March 27), Tour of Flanders (March 31) and finally Paris - Roubaix (April 7). On the French monumental race, Küng has great record from recent editions, finishing fifth (in 2023) and third (in 2022).
