Stage 4 was circled in red on the route of this year's Women's Tour de Suisse. The battle for the overall classification was wide open, and the individual time trial presented a perfect opportunity for the specialists to make their mark.
Marlen Reusser seized the opportunity flawlessly. The Movistar Team rider was the fastest of the day and secured a victory that also had a significant impact on the race standings.
The result allowed the Swiss rider to dethrone Elisa Longo Borghini from the overall lead. The Italian rider from UAE Team ADQ, who had started the day wearing the yellow jersey, couldn't match Reusser's pace and finished fifth in the stage.
The gap between the two in the time trial proved sufficient to trigger a change in the overall leader with only one stage remaining. For Movistar Team, the victory also represents one of the most important results of the season in a top-level stage race.

Marlen Reusser's main rival in the fight for the stage win was
Zoe Bäckstedt. The CANYON//SRAM rider also delivered a strong performance, securing second place on the day. However, the British rider finished 11 seconds behind the Movistar Team rider, a difference that reflects the exceptional level Reusser displayed on the course.
Third place went to Loes Adegeest of Lidl-Trek, who crossed the finish line 54 seconds behind the winner. The Dutch rider thus completed a prestigious podium finish on a day where time trial specialists monopolized the top positions.
Behind the podium, Franziska Koch, fourth for FDJ United - SUEZ, and Elisa Longo Borghini, fifth, also stood out. Despite losing the overall lead, UAE Team ADQ achieved a very strong showing in the stage results. In addition to Elisa Longo Borghini's fifth place, the Emirati team placed Maeva Squiban in sixth and Brodie Chapman in seventh.
The three riders finished just seconds apart, confirming the team's collective strength on a particularly demanding day for the general classification contenders.
Lidl-Trek also managed to place two riders in the Top 10 thanks to the results of Loes Adegeest and Lauretta Hanson, third and ninth respectively. Team Visma | Lease a Bike was represented by Femke de Vries, who finished eighth, while Cédrine Kerbaol rounded out the top ten for EF Education-Oatly.
