Start Times & Order Tour de Suisse 2026 Stage 4 ITT - Tadej Pogacar last off in yellow as Primoz Roglic and Richard Carapaz target GC gains on rivals

The start times have been confirmed for the stage 4 individual time trial at the 2026 Tour de Suisse, with Tadej Pogacar set to close the running order in the yellow jersey.
Saturday’s test in Aarburg begins at 14:57, with Marco Brenner the first rider down the ramp. Riders will then start at one-minute intervals before Pogacar begins his effort at 17:02.

The time trial arrives with Pogacar already in firm control of the general classification after his huge stage 1 solo in Sondrio. He starts stage 4 with a 2:50 lead over Richard Carapaz, while Andrea Bagioli sits third at 3:07, Mathias Vacek fourth at 4:16 and Finlay Pickering fifth at 4:41.
Carapaz will be the penultimate rider to start at 17:01, one minute before Pogacar. Bagioli starts at 17:00, Vacek at 16:59 and Pickering at 16:58, giving the top five the final five slots in the running order.
Behind them, Brandon McNulty starts at 16:57, followed by Ilan Van Wilder at 16:56 and Wilco Kelderman at 16:55. Stage 3 winner Jhonatan Narvaez, who gave UAE Team Emirates - XRG another victory in the storm-hit finale to Bad Ragaz, begins his time trial at 16:54.
Primoz Roglic starts earlier at 16:48 after slipping to 16th overall, 6:25 behind Pogacar. The Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe rider is no longer part of the yellow jersey equation, but the Aarburg time trial still gives him a chance to claw back ground and move closer to the riders fighting for the top 10.
Mathieu van der Poel is scheduled to start at 16:10, while Matthew Brennan begins at 15:29 after a stage 3 that had looked like a sprint opportunity before early climbing, torrential rain and a successful Narvaez-Meurisse move changed the race.

- Whilst I love Tadej (and Remco, who deserves to be mentioned here, too), @JumpyJohn makes a valid point, and he isn’t wrong @MajorPayne. It is a fact that today’s official broadcasters of cycling struggle to keep our attention once the likes of Tadej (or Remco) attacks at ~80km or so. In the 142nd issue of Rouleur, Ned Boulting reflects on the often stressful paradox of commentating on a race that is effectively over before the broadcast window even hits its stride. In this edition, he centres on Remco’s 1hr solo at the Challenge Mallorca this year, and captures the panic and dread shared by the commentators when a dominant rider kills off the racing tension early. I recommend you read it, it’s a fascinating insight into the world of commentary, and the true viewing figures of today’s cycling. I must add here, I love Tadej and Remco, but I would be lying if my heart rate wasn’t higher when watching the World Championships this year. - The shattered women’s marathon record was clean and highly surprising and then a few months later the athlete was very positive in another test for something not taken by mistake when recording far less impressive results. Sounds to me like the problem is still the age old one, detection is often way behind. - Listen, you have a point but on the other hand in cycling, once some of the riders go solo and build a minute’s gap, there’s hardly any action left to watch. - It honestly breaks my heart to see this. I had a feeling this might happen over the last few years, but I kept praying it wouldn't, and that Joey would find his niche, especially back racing alongside his brother. After growing up racing alongside PH-MAS, the Pidcock brothers have always felt like one of our own, as we’ve watched them grow from Club level all the way up to PC and WT.
