Primoz Roglic has stayed two and a half months without competing. Following a difficult winter of recovering from past injuries, surgeries and preparation for the Giro d'Italia - alongside the victory at the Corsa Rosa - he's taken a long time off. Now he puts on a bib once again at the
Vuelta a Burgos.
Roglic will most likely be supported by Attila Valter, Jan Tratnik, Robert Gesink, Thomas Gloag, Edoardo Affini and Gijs Leemreize. This will form the bulk of the lineup for the upcoming Vuelta a Espana, adding Jonas Vingegaard who will return to the race following his second Tour de France win. It is a specific plan the team follows after many of it's riders have spent the past few weeks training at altitude.
Roglic raced Tirreno-Adriatico and the Volta a Catalunya earlier in the year, winning the overall classification in both. He then won the Giro making it a perfect score for the year, he now starts most likely as the main favourite for Burgos. There he will find two mountain stage in what may be the main preparation race ahead of the Vuelta.
The race will end only a week before the start of the Vuelta and will be the perfect test for his form. There he will face the likes of Adam Yates, Enric Mas and Jay Vine, in a startlist that will otherwise be modest in comparison with the Spanish Grand Tour.
