The youngest members of the Wolfpack continue to impress. After it was Luke Lamperti's turn at the Muscat Classic on Friday, Paul Magnier had his chance again in the opening stage of Tour of Oman. And it's fair to say that against some of the world's best sprinters, the Soudal - Quick-Step Frenchman performed more than respectably with fifth place on the day.
The race will now continue with no less than four uphill finishes. Tomorrow's finish location - Qurayyat - is no new climb for the Tour of Oman veterans. The 2.7km at 6.7% climb with sections with gradients over 10% was also part of the 2023 edition when Jesús Herrada won the stage. Another former winner on this climb, Anthon Charmig (2022), is also present in Oman this year.
