With the 2025
Giro d'Italia now just a matter of days away, teams are starting to reveal their lineups for the opening Grand Tour of the season. For the
Tudor Pro Cycling Team, it will be
Michael Storer leading the charge, with genuine Maglia Rosa ambitions. Notably however, the expected Giro debut of
Marc Hirschi hasn't materialised, with the Swiss star a surprise absentee.
“After making our debut last year, we’re ready for another three weeks of aggressive racing,” says Fabian Cancellara, Owner of the Tudor Pro Cycling in
a press release revealing the team's lineup for the Grand Tour on the official website. “Competing in the Giro d’Italia is a true honour, and we’re deeply grateful to RCS for their trust. This second participation is an important step in the continued development of the Team. We’re coming with our Born To Dare spirit, ready to leave our mark.”
As mentioned, Storer, fresh off a general classification success at the recent Tour of the Alps, will be leading the team and the Aussie has posed himself as a genuine Maglia Rosa contender through his form in 2025. “I’m in great shape and high spirits,” Storer says. “The hard work we put in during altitude training with the team, combined with our win at the Tour of the Alps, gives me a lot of confidence heading into this year’s Giro d’Italia. I’ve always loved this race, and I’m approaching it with a balanced mix of calm and excitement.”
The one big absentee, is that of Hirschi, who was widely expected to make his Giro d'Italia debut as part of the Tudor team this year. “I’m really disappointed not to be racing the Giro,” Hirschi says, with the team citing a lack of form in the Ardennes as a reason for the Swiss' omission. “It’s a beautiful race, one that makes me dream and that I was excited to debut in. It’s frustrating not to be at the level we had planned for.”
