Nick Schultz finds relief at Israel-Premier Tech after B&B Hotels-KTM's fiasco

Nick Schultz has signed a contract with Israel-Premier Tech. Originally, the Australian was supposed to join B&B Hotels-KTM, but the team shut down due to financial problems.

“I’m really grateful to IPT for offering me a contract so late in the year. I’m very excited to join a group of great people where I’ll find some familiar faces. I hope to play an important role in helping the team wherever I can and also be ambitious, trying to achieve some results to repay the confidence that the team showed in me. All in all, I’m just really looking forward to being with everybody at the races and getting stuck in,” says Schultz.

Kjell Carlström of Israel-Premier Tech wanted to start the season with 28 riders but decided Schultz would be a good addition. "Nick, like Stephen Williams came on the market very late. But he was a rider we were immediately interested in. Nick is a great climber and will play a key role for our classification riders and leaders in the classics," Carlstrom said.

At the Herald Sun Tour in 2019, Schultz won his first professional race on home soil, followed by a summit finish victory at the Sazka Tour in 2021." He will also pursue his own ambitions. He has proven that is within his capabilities after almost winning a Tour de France stage on his debut this year. We look forward to helping Nick continue to grow as a rider and take on an important role in the team,” concluded Carlstrom.
