The news are out!
Primoz Roglic will be riding the Giro d'Italia this spring and will be aiming for the pink jersey. The
Jumbo-Visma rider is on his way up in terms of form and will be leading the Dutch team at the Corsa Rosa, after much speculation on his 2023 goals.
"We still have an account open. This is the perfect year to go for it," team DS Merijn Zeeman said in the team presentation. With many of the team's riders having their main goals announced, the Slovenian was no exception, as the team reveals he will be leading the charge. Jonas Vingegaard and Wout van Aert will be gearing towards the Tour de France.
More details are to come, but new signings
Wilco Kelderman and compatriot
Jan Tratnik are confirmed to be forming part of his block for the Corsa Rosa.
Roglic rode the 2016 Giro where he took his first World Tour win in a time-trial, and in 2019 he finished in third position following several days in pink. With three Grand Tours conquered ever since and a stronger team, he will return for more. The Italian race suits his skills with around 70 kilometers of individual time-trial, whilst in France the riders will have just over 20 kilometers.
