Movistar will have a tough time trying to score a big result at Tour of the Alps

One of the most prestigious and also one of the hardest .Pro level stage races is just around the corner. Those who guessed Tour of the Alps were right. Movistar Team, as one of the peloton's most traditional GC-oriented teams must be licking their lips at the sight of this year's profiles.

It's tough to judge who the leader for the Spanish team may be. American all-rounder Will Barta has had the best year from the selected lineup so far with stage win at Valencia and 15th overall at tough Paris-Nice.

Iván Sosa appears to be an ideal contender for the hard Alpine passes, yet this year's edition might be decided in hilly and medium mountain stages 1, 2 and 3, where the light-weight Colombian might lose some important time when chaos breaks out.

Additionally. Gregor Mühlberger and Antonio Pedrero could be great cards to play in breakaways. While Pedrero has been struggling to find ideal form at the start of the year, Mühlberger will be backed up by a 2023 stage win from the race that often runs very close to Austrian borders.

Movistar Team lineup for Tour of the Alps:
Gregor Mühlberger, Will Barta, Iván Sosa, Antonio Pedrero, Mathias Norsgaard, Vinícius Rangel and Sergio Samitier
