Jonas Vingegaard continues in the Txagorritxu hospital in Vitoria after undergoing surgery on his collarbone last Monday and being transferred to the ICU to control his pneumothorax. The Danish rider has been in the hospital for week and a half and may be transferred to Denmark by special means.
According to the newspaper AS, there has been talk of the possibility of the rider being transferred by medical plane to Denmark to continue his recovery at home. The option is open, but has not yet been decided. The Visma - Lease a Bike leader was involved in the multiple crash in the fourth stage of the Itzulia that also sent Primoz Roglic and Remco Evenepoel home. The Dane bore the brunt along with Jay Vine and Steff Cras.
In the last few days the parents have confessed to be "living hell". Visma has been releasing information, although not too much related to the rider's health and more to the speculation that he may or may not ride the Tour de France. But no informations were given to his parents.
