Paul Magnier is having a strong climb through the ranks in pro cycling and at the end of the 2025 season he is perhaps the rider who is carrying the biggest momentum in terms of victories. After winning stage 1 of the
Cro Race this Tuesday afternoon, the French sprinter has now taken 6 wins in 16 days for
Soudal - Quick-Step.
The first day of the race began in Split and finished in the inland city of Sinj, a day for the sprinters where alongside Danny van Poppel and Giovanni Lonardi, he headlined the list of main favourites. However with a good leadout and great form as of recently, the 21-year old did seem to carry the biggest chances of taking the win on the day. At the end of a rather chaotic sprint, that was the outcome that the peloton was presented with, as Magnier rode to his 11th win of the season - an incredibly successful one which also included his first World Tour triumph at the Tour de Pologne.
"It's super nice, last months I got a lot of victories on the road... Also super job from the team today I can really thank them, we did a good job in Slovakia," Magnier said in a press release. I did a lot of good job in Slovakia we really trained a lot with [Dries] van Gestel to get a nice leadout and again today was amazing so I'm really happy, we are really confident together and I hope it will continue like this".
Unlike Slovakia, it isn't expected that he continues his winning run in Croatia, but there is definitely the opportunity in the next few days to continue his successful season finale. "I will enjoy tonight first this victory, and then we see tomorrow. Depends on the wind and the last two climbs, but yeah the legs are good and I hope I will have as many opportunities as possible".
Summer in Croatia fuels Frenchman's triumph
"It is a super nice country it's my first time here, we had time yesterday to enjoy a bit, I went to swim a beat the sea is very nice and today the course was very beautiful," he concluded.
