Jumbo-Visma have announced two of it's signings at the start of the Vuelta a Espana, and on it's first rest day they have decided to confirm three others, as the team welcomes
Attila Valter,
Jan Tratnik and
Thomas Gloag.
Tratnik has signed a contract until 2024 and will be filling in a role similar to that of Tiesj Benoot this year, having shown immense talent in the hilly classics - such as the Bretagne Classic which he came close to winning yesterday - but also the cobbled classics and the mountains. Roglic's compatriot is also the current and four-time Slovenian time-trial champion, making for a rider capable of supporting the team in every terrain.
Attila Valter, from Groupama - FDJ, was another rider heavily hinted for a long time already and has signed for three seasons. He will be part of the team's mountain train for the coming years, having proven his talent in the mountainous and hilly races, aswell as finishing an impressive fourth place at Strade Bianche this year which has also seen him come out as a talented classics riders.
The team is also thinking of it's long-term future with this batch of signings as Thomas Gloag, the British talent, has also inked with the team until 2025. Gloag is 20 years old and has been one of the most impressive under-23 talents in the current season alongside compatriot Leo Hayter, and has won a stage - and led the race for a day - in the recent Tour de l'Avenir.
