Gianni Moscon has big expectations for himself for next season. His podium chances were hampered due to Covid and bacterial blood infections this season.
“I contracted Covid at the beginning of the season and I was sick,” Moscon explains. He continues, “Three weeks with bronchitis, then constant tiredness and pain in the muscles, which never left me. The more I trained, the more tired I became. I couldn't recover and racing had become an ordeal.”
However, as the season came to an end, he was once again dominating the top ranks, which makes him more optimistic about the upcoming season."I came back at the beginning of September, with only a few kilometres of training in my legs, and I managed to get a few placings. My first race back was the Coppa Bernocchi. I finished 12th. Nothing much, but believe me I was already happy, because at the beginning of the season I couldn't even see the finish line,” shares Moscon.
He has already begun training for the upcoming season with high expectations from himself. “To be back training well, to feel good sensations, is already a great thing for me. In 2023 I will try to do everything I should and could have done last season. Now we are in training camp with the team in Spain, in Calpe. For me the season will start early, earlier than usual, because I need to recover my race rhythm,” concluded Moscon.
