Last year, as now, Vingegaard travelled from Paris to the Netherlands for a party at the team's headquarters, and then to Denmark for a series of honours. The video images of the fighter jets that brought in the winner of the yellow jersey over Danish territory went viral on the internet for a reason.
"Certainly. It's always good to keep busy. Yesterday I also put in some kilometers," Vingegaard refers to the Boxmeer criterium in an interview with WielerFlits. "But it's always good to keep riding and not come to a complete standstill. I am really looking forward to the Vuelta."
"But I'm definitely not going on an altitude training. I like to spend time with the family. We haven't come up with a plan yet about the preparation, that depends on how I feel later. We'll see in a week. Then we will make a choice."

"I hope I can be 100% and fight for the overall victory," Vingegaard is clear for the Vuelta. He will do this alongside fellow leader Primož Roglič, as they did in the 2022 Tour. "I haven't spoken to him yet, but I'm looking forward to it. Last year it worked well, the strategy with two leaders, and I am looking forward to that again."
