Quinn Simmons has high expectations. Hence, his 2022 season didn't come as satisfaction seeing how he didn't manage to win a stage, and he opened about less good feelings in a recent interview.
"I know I'm not one of these superhumans racing now but I think on my day, on the right year on the right course, maybe it's four years from now, but I can be World Champion some day," Simmons said in an interview for Velon.
The American has opened up on how he races for the hunt of results and not exactly the love for riding a bike, and how he doesn't have the preference to live in Europe. Simmons is one of the biggest rising talents in the peloton but he's shown himself disappointed for not having captured a win this year with Trek - Segafredo.
The 21-year old finished 7th at Strade Bianche, and won the KOM classification at both Tirreno-Adriatico and the Tour de Suisse. However, in his third season at Trek he hoped for more. 2023 will see him focus completely in the cobbled classics over the spring where he will hope to achieve some success.
