BORA-hansgrohe have been quite successful in the hilly and mountainous races so far this year with the duo of Aleksandr Vlasov and Sergio Higuita, however for the
Giro d'Italia the team has announced a lineup with different faces who have been flying under the radar before the start in Budapest.
The German team will have a three-pronged approach towards the general classification which is the clear target for this race.
Emanuel Buchmann returns to the race in hopes of revenge after last year's bad luck which saw him crash out on the 15th stage. The German climber will be ambitioning a high result, together with
Wilco Kelderman who finished third here two years ago, and fifth at the Tour de France last year. Together with them, it is expected that
Jai Hindley will be riding well in the mountains after returning to his level this year - having finished fifth at Tirreno-Adriatico. The long and high mountains of the third week will suit the Australian. The team will be hoping that all three riders are able to perform at their best level and take advantage of their collective strength.
