“I did a great performance. The average power was more than the plan and at the end of the day, chapeau Bissegger. That’s a great ride," Ganna said in a post-race interview, displaying how impressive was the performance of the EF Education rider.
After grabbing time-trial wins at the Etoile de Bessèges and Tour de la Provence in similar distances, Ganna looked in form and ready to take a third win of the season at the UAE Tour however that didn't come to happen.
He is now sitting in second place in the overall classification however he isn't expected to try and hold on to that spot. Nevertheless, tomorrow's climb to Jebel Jais is close to ideal to his characteristics, but the team's focus is on
Adam Yates and his ambitions to repeat the success he's had at the 2020 edition where he won.
"I felt good and also for the next few days, I’ll be ready to help Adam, starting on tomorrow’s climb," Ganna completed.
