🇵🇱 #TDP22 It’s a time of 18:30 for @HiguitSergio, the 16th best time, putting him in 8th in GC. Arensman wins the stage, with Hayter the new GC leader.
Sergio Higuita has had a very eventful week at the Tour de Pologne, with two crashes, a stage win and a stint with the yellow jersey, however today at the time-trial the Colombian couldn't hang on to it as the specialists took advantage of the time-trial.
"It was a solid time trial for me today. In the last two time trials I did I performed pretty well, and I think I'm improving every time in this discipline," he said in a post-race interview. Higuita rode to 16th on the day, in a hilly time-trial where he ambitions to save his race lead, but ultimately the route was not hard enough for such a lightweight rider to thrive.
"So now we're still in the top 10 in the GC, and with a stage win in the bag, we can be pleased with our Tour of Poland so far," he added. Higuita descended to eighth place after the time-trial, a decent position but one that doesn't reflect the form he carried into the race - after winning the third stage in convincing fashion at Przemysl.
"I also want to wish my teammate Jordi all the best and a speedy recovery after his crash today," he concluded, referring to Jordi Meeus who crashed out of the race today. Tomorrow should be a calm day in the bunch for the Colombian, as BORA - hansgrohe attempt to go for the win with Sam Bennett.
