The cycling transfer market is once again revolving around a single name: Paul Seixas. The young French rider, preparing to debut at the 2026 Tour de France and already viewed as one of the peloton’s brightest prospects at just 19, has become the epicentre of an unprecedented sporting and financial battle.
According to reporting from Daniel Benson on the transfer market, Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team is preparing a record-breaking financial offer to sign Seixas. In his words: “it’s rumoured to be the biggest contract ever seen in professional cycling.” The aim is to secure the next global star, who is also on the radar of UAE Team Emirates XRG led by Tadej Pogacar.
Seixas’s rise has been described as meteoric. Standout performances include his ability to absorb benchmark attacks like those of Pogacar on the demanding slopes of La Redoute at Liùge–Bastogne–Liùge 2026, where he was among the few able to stay with the elite group.
He also underlined his command of stage racing at Itzulia 2026, where, based on available information, he claimed the overall classification alongside three stage wins, cementing his status as a complete rider.
That level has opened the door straight to the 2026 Tour de France, where he is already viewed as a potential contender to challenge even the sport’s dominant forces, including Jonas Vingegaard.

An ambitious project with WorldTour in sight

Seixas’s Tour de France 2026 debut has confirmed his standing within the international peloton. His presence at the French Grand Tour is not only a logical step in his career, but also a statement of intent: to compete with the very best from an early age.
The narrative around him now casts Seixas as a rider capable of contesting Grand Tours in the immediate future, a rarity at his age, which has accelerated interest from the sport’s biggest teams.
Pinarello’s move only makes sense within its strategic objective: to step up to the WorldTour in 2028. To get there, the team plans to build a competitive core around marquee names.
In that context, Seixas would be the keystone alongside Tom Pidcock, already on the roster and posting recent headline results, such as the podium at the 2025 Vuelta a España and second place at Milano–Sanremo 2026, according to available data.
Bringing the two together would turn Pinarello into one of the most ambitious projects in modern cycling.
Paul Seixas’ future has become one of the sport’s main storylines. With several European giants and the financial power of emerging teams in the mix, his decision will shape the market’s direction in the years ahead.
