Trek-Segafredo won the opening team time trial stage of the
Ceratizit Challenge by La Vuelta. The team completed the course of 19.9 kilometers in just 23 minutes and 31 seconds to win the stage.
The weather was pleasant, with no signs of rain or wind disrupting the performance. Team Uno-X Pro Cycling Team was the first to put a challenging time of 25 minutes and 14 seconds, which many teams struggled to beat, but Ceratizit–WNT Pro Cycling surprised them by creating a time record of 24 minutes and 52 seconds.
It wasn't long before Team BikeExchange took over the top position by setting a new record of 23 minutes and 37 seconds. Several minutes after the team had achieved the top position, Trek-Segafredo set a record that surpassed them by 6 seconds.
In the end, All eyes were on Movistar with Annemiek van Vleuten, but they failed to beat the previous record set by Trek-Segafredo. FDJ - SUEZ - Futuroscope secured third place with a time of 23 minutes and 42 seconds.
